Many painting companies offer Roof Coatings. Most of them are good painters, but they're NOT ROOFING CONTRACTORS.  All you have to do is ask them if they have a specialty license for "Roofing" in their state and most of them DO NOT.  If they were to do a Roof Inspection, they don't even know what to look for and how to address problem areas.  For example, can they look at a "scupper/canale" and know if it is 3- coursed properly??  What about a skylight, can they tell if it was Professionally sealed, or Not??   What was the quality of the roof cement that was used?  Did it have a fiberglass membrane reinforcement or was "cloth" membrane used, or perhaps "no membrane" at all??
